1. TEDDY BEAR DAY
The teddy bear is one of the most popular toys for children, and holds a special place in many adults hearts, too. This lovable stuffed animal has a day all of its own, Teddy Bear Day. It gives a chance for people to get a teddy out of the cupboard and make him the center of attention. It’s an ideal time to get together with others for a teddy bear’s favorite activity, having a picnic, as immortalized in the classic song, ‘Teddy Bear’s Picnic.’ This was written in 1907, shortly after teddy bears were first manufactured in Europe and America. The American toy bears were named Teddy, in honor of President Theodore Roosevelt, who had refused to shoot a small captured bear on a hunting trip. Many teddy bears have become famous over the years, including Paddington Bear, Rupert Bear, Pudsey Bear and, of course, Winnie the Pooh.
2. GRANDPARENT'S DAY
The inspiration behind Grandparent’s Day was Marian McQuade. She instigated a campaign in the early 1970s aimed at highlighting the plight of lonely elderly people in care homes and encouraging grandchildren to take advantage of the wisdom and guidance their grandparents could provide. This blossomed into the event known today, which is held each year to both honor grandparents and let them show their love for their grandchildren. It also aims to continue Marian’s original idea of an older generation’s knowledge being passed on to youngsters.
There are plenty of ways to celebrate the day, with the official website providing plenty of ideas. This includes youngsters learning about their grandparent’s heritage and history or making family trees. Families can simply spend time together to listen to their elderly relative’s stories and youngsters can volunteer to spend part of the day with the elderly people at a nursing home.
3.WIENERSCHNITZEL DAY

Wiener Schnitzel is a delicious treat, much beloved by Austria and other countries in that region. It is, in fact, one of the premier examples of Viennese cuisine and has served as the backbone of many a natives childhood diets. Wiener Schnitzel Day celebrates this meal and its history.
4.WORLD WIDE CANDLE LIGHTING DAY
For hundreds of years, lighting a candle has been a way to show respect for those that have died. This beautiful gesture shows that although someone may be gone from this world, their memory will endure, and the light of their flame will continue to inspire and guide others. Worldwide Candle Lighting Day is a celebration of solidarity and memory. It’s a day on which people around the world gather to light candles for children who have died and to show that they will always be loved and never forgotten. The candles are lit at the same time in every time zone, meaning that a consistent warm glow passes around the planet for a full 24-hour day.
