2. BUY A BOOK DAY

TV and movies have taken over our lives these days. That’s not to say that watching certain TV shows or movies is a waste of our time—there are many well-made, thought-provoking things to be watched. And of course, thanks to Kindle, carrying even multiple books around at the same time has become infinitely easier and more practical. Still, however, it is a bit sad how the old-fashioned art of reading a regular paper book seems to be slowly fading away into the past. It sometimes seems as though children today do not even know the scent of an old book, a book that has touched the lives of so many, and how wonderful it can be to settle down on the couch with such a book on a rainy day and disappear into the world it creates. Buy a Book Day was created for the purpose of reminding people how much joy simple black print on a white background can bring when it awakens your imagination and transports you far away.

The History of Buy a Book Day
Buy a Book Day was created in 2012 to educate people about the importance of books to our culture and civilization as w whole. It is inarguable that books have been one of the greatest contributors to the advancement of the human race, by moving the hearts of many over the ages, stimulating their imaginations and helping them see the world in an entirely different light. Books have also served the simple but vital purpose of passing knowledge down from generation to generation. The creators of Buy a Book Day want nothing more than for people to take a moment to truly appreciate books and their numerous roles in the human experience.
How to Celebrate Buy a Book Day
The best way to celebrate this day is to do what its creators meant for us to do—buy a book. Buy a Book Day does not require for you to spend excessive amounts of money. All you have to do to enjoy it thoroughly is invest even a small amount of money in a book, either first- or second-hand and then soak up all of the knowledge and wisdom in it. Especially if you haven’t read an actual book in a long time, you are sure to be pleasantly surprised at just how quickly a well-written book draws you in, making you as much a part of the story as the characters in it. And do not be fooled into thinking that the only books worth reading are ones written hundreds of years ago—there are many contemporary authors alive and active today that pen masterpieces each and every year. Daniel Woodrell, for example, wrote the critically acclaimed and tremendously powerful novel “Winter’s Bone” that was later adapted into an equally acclaimed film starring Jennifer Lawrence. J.K. Rowling, an author of the world-famous Harry Potter series, has been named one of the most influential women in Britain for her the number of children and teenagers she got to fall in love with reading. In other words, it doesn’t matter whether you like the classics or contemporary literature or whether you can afford to buy a brand new hardcover book or just a dog-eared softcover book from the local thrift shop—you can celebrate Buy a Book Day anyway.

3. SUPERHUMAN DAY

For years those who faced the challenges of disability in all its forms dealt with a stigma that was forced on them, that they were somehow less capable of doing amazing and, dare we say it, Superhuman things. Superhuman Day celebrates and brings awareness to the thousands of athletes, musicians, artists, and everyday people who have overcome what was once perceived as a crippling limitation and gone on to prove that “Yes I Can”

History of Superhuman Day

Superhuman Day was the brainchild of the fantastic people at Channel 4 to highlight the incredible athletes at the Summer Paralympic Games. In 2016 Channel 4 took the place of the official broadcaster for the Paralympics for the second time and immediately decided to start bringing these unsung heroes and champions of the great human achievements into the limelight. It all started with their advertising campaign “We’re The Superhumans”, featuring 140 people with disabilities who are working to change society’s attitudes towards them.

The Paralympics have been running since 1948, though they weren’t called that then. This athletic event was put together to give World War II Veteran Patients with Spinal Injuries a chance to compete, and was called the “1948 International Wheelchair games”. But in 1960 the Paralympics were officially established, and no longer simply open to WWII vets. In that event, 400 athletes from 23 countries competed, which quickly grew to 1600 athletes from 40 countries in 1976.
One of the most important events in the Paralympics occurred in 1988 in Seoul, South Korea. The Paralympics were held immediately after the Olympic Summer Games, in both the same host city and using the same facilities. In 2001, the International Paralympic Committee and the International Olympic Committee cemented this practice as tradition, and so it has been ever since.
How to celebrate Superhuman Day

If you have a disabled person in your family, remember to encourage them for their amazing achievements. The human body is capable of some amazing things, and the challenges that those with disabilities overcome just show it all the more. A little research will reveal musicians, archers, craftsman, painters, people from every walk of life who have not let their disabilities hold them back. Superhuman Day is also your reminder to set your calendar to view the Paralympics this coming year, it is a profound display of human achievement and the heights that people can reach when they don’t let their perceived setbacks hold them down.

Beer is one of the world’s most popular alcoholic drink. It has been around for centuries dating as far back as the Egyptians and Romans. Nowadays, Craft beer is a million dollar business and breweries are becoming the most popular hobby to take part in.
History of Beer Lover’s Day
There are many different ways to brew beer, as the way we process beer has changed and evolved over time. However, this day dedicated to all the different kinds of beer and the celebration of beer lovers. As it is one of the oldest beverages humanity has ever produced, it dates back to the 5th millennium BC in Iran, as ancients were drinking beer upon its discovery. However, our modern society is crazy about beer due to its taste, the way it makes people feel, and the commemorative way in which beer is used. It's generally used for celebration or a get-together and it is everywhere.
Small facts about beer and beer lovers include the fact that a beer lover or enthusiast is called a cerevisaphile. Another interesting fact is that Germany serves beer ice cream in popsicle form. Its alcoholic content is less than that found in “classic” beer. Fact three includes how they used mugs with a whistle baked into the rim, the whistle being used to summon the barmaid. It has been suggested this practice gave birth to the phrase “wet your whistle.” The only instance in which beer was prohibited on a legal level was the prohibition period of the 1920’s. Lastly, centuries ago in England, pub visitors used a novel innovation that enabled them to get their beer served quickly. But beer has a long and detailed history, but no matter the history, many people do know the fact that beer is good.
How to celebrate Beer Lover’s Day
One of the best ways to celebrate Beer Lover’s Day is to have a beer or lager with your friends, no matter the occasion. Another way you can have a good time is by going on a beer tasting journey at a specialty brewery. You can also go bar hopping and drink beers at your local pubs to have a good time. If you don’t feel like drinking beer, you can cook with it as well with many different kinds of food recipes.

5.  BRING YOUR MANNERS TO WORK DAY

Many of us spend more time at work than at home, so it’s really important to have fulfilling relationships both with colleagues and customers. Bring Your Manners To Work Day was created by The Protocol School of Washington to remind people of the importance of treating people with courtesy and respect in the workplace. Everyone should practice good manners, whether at work or at home, and common bad manners at work include things like loud ringtones, not cleaning up after yourself and polite conversation.
Although Bring Your Manners To Work Day is just one day of the year, it doesn’t mean you should only be polite at work for one day. Use the day as a reminder of the importance of good manners every day of the year, and you may well find good manners help to open the doors to new opportunities in the workplace.

Whether you are a lazy mom, or just aspire to have a day off and become a lazy mom, Lazy Mom’s Day could be right up your street. Even on Mother’s Day, moms across the world cook, clean, and generally work hard to keep their households functioning. On Lazy Mom’s Day, moms are encouraged to relax, take a back seat, and simply be lazy.

How can moms be lazy? Get the kids to bring you breakfast in bed, rather than making their toast and porridge in the morning. Get your husband to drive you to work, or make the kids take the bus to school rather than drop them off at the gates. Best of all – order in a pizza and have a night off from cooking!
Kids, if you are reading this, encourage your mom to take a day off. No need to buy her a present – some peace and quiet will be enough.
