HOW TO FACE AN INTERVIEW?
LEARN HOW TO SECURE A JOB IN YOUR FIRST INTERVIEW
- Are you facing your first interview?
- Are you nervous about it?
- Want to know how to overcome your fears and crack the interview?
You are at the right place. Let's take one step at a time and learn the trick.
An interview is basically a selection process where you will be facing a Human resource manager. He will be sitting inside and you will be going into the panel with all your goosebumps crossing your mind. So let's learn how to have a great interview experience.
There are three steps to face a successful interview process
1. Prepare the content
2. Prepare yourself
3. Sell Yourself
1. PREPARE THE CONTENT
This is the first step and the easiest of two steps. You need to prepare the content for the interview. The following are the basic subjects on which you must concentrate.
➤About the Company: You can't just go for an interview to a company, without knowing what the company is doing, what are its final product, what is the company's contribution to the society, whether it is a B2B or B2C company etc. So first get updated about the company's cloud.
➤About the position: The position for which you are applying. Whether a business developer, software developer, data analyst, marketing analyst, or anything. You must be aware of what kind of work you will be doing if you are selected.
➤About yourself: Every interviewer asks this question, maybe in a different way and everyone who attends an interview knows that this question will be asked. So prepare to tell about yourself which is not specified in your resume. These are some points which will help you to frame an answer to this question in a logical order.
- Your name
- Where you belong
- What is your passion (related to your job)
- What are your achievements
- About your family
- Talk about your hobbies
➤About your Objective: I have seen people going to an interview without a career objective. By defining your career objective, you are showcasing yourself to the interviewer that you have a clear plan to be executed. This will give the HR manager a confidence that you are a goal oriented person. Make your objective crisp and let be honest and find your own objective, rather copying.
These are some of the basic pieces of information which at least you need to prepare before you get to an interview. There are many frequent and familiar questions asked repeatedly for which you can be prepared.
2. PREPARE YOURSELF
The next step and in fact the most important step is to prepare yourself for an interview. You must prepare yourself physically and mentally to have a killing performance in an interview. Let me put it up in points so that it'll be easy and specific to catch up.
- "We never get a second chance to get a first impression." So grooming is the first and foremost thing.
- Fill yourself with positivity and confidence and believe in yourself that you are the aptest person for that job.
- Never show your need for the job to the HR instead show your interest towards the job.
- Be in a mindset to work for the welfare of the company. Many people don't get attached to the company. They simply go to work and come. They won't like the job, many don't like the company even. Show to the interviewer that you are happy to work for the company and not only for yourself.
- Be honest and gentle. But at the same time don't forget to be wise.
3. SELL YOURSELF
An interview is a place where you sell yourself to the company, such that both of them get benefited out of it. Every manager will have some expectations for every candidate, and every company needs some set of skillsets and requirements for every job position. You must project yourself as if you meet all the requirement for that particular job and also make sure that you are taking up this job only because you are interested, and not only because you need it.
The level of confidence you showcase reflects on your probability of getting the offer. It is ok to say no to an answer, but don't be vague and a liar. Once the HR manager gets a thought that you are cheating, or not saying your real opinion, the chances of rejection increase exponentially. Sit casually, have a gentle smile on your face, Conclude with an hand-shake.
Even if you did not perform well in your interview, don't show any expressions on your face. This is not the end. Your body language is your branding feature. Answer firmly. Be confidence to talk about your hobby and in expressing your views. Your opinion matters a lot. Since the HR manager shows a negative view over your opinion, don't change yours. Its a nack to test your level of confidence.
Prepare well - Perform well - Progress - Lets rise and shine
