3. POSITIVE THINKING DAY

Positive Thinking Day is a time set aside each year to concentrate on all things positive. An American entrepreneur started this day in 2003 so that people could commemorate the many rewards that can be found in thinking positively.

How to Celebrate Positive Thinking Day:

If you are not sure what to do to celebrate, here are a few suggestions.
  • Start the day positively by saying “Today is going to be a good day!” This will set the tone for the day ahead of you.
  • Say some affirmations. These are positive sentences about you or your circumstances that can give you boldness, confidence, and self-esteem.
  • Hang around with positive people.
  • Show gratitude for the simple things in life.
  • Read or watch positive, motivational books and movies.
  • Be kind to someone today.
  • Finally, the best thing you can do for yourself and others, today and every day is to simply smile.

4. KIDS TAKE OVER KITCHEN DAY

Despite sounding like most parents’ worst nightmare, Kids Take Over The Kitchen Day is a day which can be both fun and fulfilling – for young and old alike!

Originally pioneered by the Young Chefs Academy, this is a fun movement with its roots in a serious cause. Children and teens are encouraged to ‘take over the kitchen’ by involving them in the preparation and planning of the day’s meals (under the supervision of parents/guardians were required!). From this, the budding Masterchefs will learn about nutrition and healthy eating habits – the start of a battle against the very serious health issues facing many youngsters today.
Not only will this be a healthy learning experience for your child, the day will help foster a tremendous family spirit; and afterward you might even have acquired a new, regular helper in the kitchen!

5. PROGRAMMER DAY

256th (hexadecimal 100th, or the 28th) day of each year

Computers, technology, and software make the modern world go around – but for every piece of clever software, there’s a programmer (and often teams of programmers) behind the scenes, solving problems with clever code, cloud security solutions, and intense development projects. Spare a thought for these digital pioneers on Programmers’ Day!

Programmers’ Day is celebrated on the 256th day of the year – chosen because this is the number of distinct values that can be represented with an eight-bit byte, and the highest power of two which is less than 365.
Lots of people celebrate this day on January 7th, which seems to be the original (though unofficial) date for the celebration. In 2009, however, the government of Russia declared the day to be a professional holiday and set the date as September 13th (Sept 12th on leap years)
